Western Australian Institute of Sport canoeist Robin Jeffery has won silver in the men’s C1 final at the Australian Open event in Penrith.
The 2012 Olympian finished behind German Franz Anton, who weaved his way through the 18 gate course in a winning time of 91.47, 2.22 seconds ahead of Jeffery, with Czech Republic star Stanislav Jezek finishing in third.
Four Western Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holders have been named in the Kookaburras squad for the 2013 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia.
The 18 man squad has been selected with one eye towards the future, with five debutants selected for the tournament named after the ninth King of Malaysia.
